Why Fretwork
Most people who start guitar stop within a year. Not because they lack talent, but because they don’t know what to practise next, and they can’t tell if they’re improving. Fretwork fixes both.
One small next step
The curriculum is a map of 80 skills, each a few hours of practice. You always know exactly what’s next.
Proof, not hope
Every skill ends with a check. When you pass, you’ve really got it.
Built for real beginners
We start before the first chord: holding the pick, tuning, one clean note.
Every style
One foundation, then blues, rock, metal, funk, jazz, neo-soul, country, Latin, pop and Indian fusion.
How the curriculum is built
Skills are grouped into five areas that grow side by side: chords and rhythm, technique, fretboard and theory, ear, and songs and improvising. Skills connect: you can’t improvise before you know a scale, so the improvising skill waits for it. The ten stages group skills into milestones you can feel.
Freemium is part of the design: the first stages are free so you can feel yourself getting better before deciding to pay.
Who we are
Fretwork is made and run by True Music School, a small team in Mumbai, India.
