Free guitar scale finder
See any scale across the neck, or tap the notes you are playing and find the scales that hold all of them.
How to use it
- Choose a key and a scale to see its notes across the fretboard. The root is shown in the darker colour.
- Or tap the notes you are playing in the “Find a scale” section.
- Press any scale in the results to load it on the board.
Which scale first?
For solos over a blues or rock song, start with the minor pentatonic: five notes that are hard to get wrong. For a happy, bright sound, try the major pentatonic. Tap the notes of a riff, and the results show the scales it fits.
