Questions
How do you read a slash chord?
The letter before the slash is the chord; the letter after it is the bass note (the lowest note you play). G/B is a G chord with B in the bass.
Can I just play the normal chord instead?
Yes. If a slash chord is tricky, play the chord before the slash. You lose the bass movement, but the song still works.
